Eggs & cooling

Egg cooling is a critical point

Eggs go into the cool room within a set number of hours from lay, judged the moment the entry is made. A late batch is held automatically — with no release button.

  • Dirty and cracked eggs separated at collection and downgraded, never mixed back in
  • Pack orders built before packing; the worker's phone reads them back
  • A packing run that doesn't match its order is a real signal, not a fault

Problems

A held egg batch becomes a case

Nine hours since lay against a six-hour limit: the batch is held, the case opens by itself, and the only ways forward are rework, a safe redirect or disposal — each signed and traced.

Dispatch

"This load cannot go" — and why

The gate names the blocker. Here the catch has no consignment paper attached — the halal export shipment certificate — so the load waits until the lead attaches it.

Houses

The empty period is a control

Place, rear, catch, then clean and rest. The empty period between flocks is recorded as a control in its own right — a house cannot take a new flock until it has been emptied, cleaned, disinfected and dried.
