Sheep & goats

Mobs on pastures, with three outputs. A treatment sets one clock for the animal or the whole mob, pastures rest after slurry, and the gate answers separately for meat, milk and wool — because wool is not food.

The flock register: four mobs with purpose, pasture, head count, state and milk and meat clear-from dates

The three outputs

Same flock, same morning, three different answers

A mob in withdrawal is blocked for meat and milk while its wool is unaffected. A critical health hold blocks meat and milk — never wool. The gate is asked three times, once per output.

The three outputs: meat, milk and wool status for each mob

Grazing & rest

Pastures rest after slurry

Slurry carries E. coli and other organisms onto pasture; the rest period is what makes the ground safe again. Moving a mob onto ground still inside its rest is refused.

Mobs & pastures

The mob is the working unit

Mobs are formed and broken up through the season, and the register keeps the history so a withdrawal follows the animals rather than the group name. A whole-mob treatment sets one clock for every animal in it.

  • Lambing and shearing on the record; wool clip as a non-food output
  • Dip disposal recorded with a destination — used dip is hazardous waste
  • A movement register for every move on and off the holding
